Architects' code of professional conduct
The text that governs our profession.
MONA practises under the supervision of the Ordre des architectes. Advice and the architectural concierge service are subject to the architects' code of professional conduct (decree no. 2026-568 of 26 June 2026, in force on 1 July 2026).
Independence and impartiality. The architect gives opinions with full objectivity and impartiality, notably on contractors' proposals and contract documents (art. 3). Integrity and transparency guide every commission (art. 12).
Conflicts of interest. Any situation liable to serve interests other than the client's is prevented or stopped without delay (art. 13). Personal or professional ties are declared before any engagement, with a copy to the Ordre and acknowledgement by the client (arts. 15 and 29).
No hidden profit, no collusion. The architect draws no material profit from any confusion unknown to the client and enters into no understanding with a third party to the detriment of the commission (art. 8). In practice: no commission, no paid listing for introductions.
Separate commissions. Design and oversight or expert-assessment functions are not combined within a single commission (art. 9). The concierge advice remains distinct from a project-management commission.
Supervised communication. Advertising of activities is permitted in compliance with the regulations (art. 10 bis); our communication remains fair and not misleading.
Contractual commitment. Every relationship is set out in writing and its termination follows the profession's rules (art. 38).

Consumer mediation. Any unresolved dispute may be brought before a consumer mediator (art. L611-1 et seq. of the Consumer Code).
Personal data (GDPR). Client-area data is processed solely to deliver the service, securely, with rights of access, rectification and erasure. Details: privacy policy.
Professional insurance. The architect is required to hold professional liability insurance (1977 Act); advice is provided within that framework.
